Yesterday, about 200 campsites were filled. Today, maybe a dozen. The long holiday weekend and the camping season are over. This is one of the benefits to off-season camping, free campsite upgrades ;-).

Stopped in Honesdale, PA to visit with Jeff and Susan Dvorin. They just bought a beautiful house on the Lackawaxen River. Honesdale is a fun little town in the mountains, with great restaurants, shops, and events happening in all seasons. There was an apple festival going on and store owners on Main Street were decorating their store fronts with scarecrows fashioned after Disney characters. Here's a pic of the BFF's at Steamtown in Scranton. We also visited an absolutely amazing art installation by local artist Samuelle Green. It's a cave constructed out of more than 1 million paper cones made from book pages. She installed it in her gallery/event space Basin and Main. Extraordinary! And some stills so you can get a closer look at the paper cave.
Spent the day by Cayuga Lake near Ithaca, NY. Strolled in the park by the lake, and hiked to Taughannock Falls.
